2nd Annual “Super Modified” Weekend Set For Farley Speedway May 11&12
Farley, Iowa: The officials of the Farley Speedway are proud to announce that the 2nd annual “Super Modified” weekend will again bring the nations very best Dirt Track Modified racers to the popular Northeast Iowa 3/8 mile dirt Speedway. The inaugural event in 2017 brought drivers from California to New York, Texas to Canada and all points in between. The event offers drivers well over $200,000 in prize money with the winner of Saturday night’s 50 lap feature pocketing a cool $50,000.
The “Super Modified” weekend will get underway with an open practice for all competitors on Thursday, May 10, Friday night, May 11, the fans will be treated to an all out, no holds barred night of racing as the drivers will look to earn their starting spots in Saturday nights Championship main events. Drivers will race two sets of qualifying heats with finishing points and passing points being earned. Following Friday nights race program 12 drivers in both the Modified and Sportmod classes will have earned a coveted starting spot in the Saturday night Championship events. Saturday night will open with last chance races to fill the remaining starting spots, in addition the non-qualifiers will run feature races for prize money. The stage will then be set for the Championship races, The Sportmods will do battle for 30 laps, to be followed by the headliner, 50 laps of Modified racing for the $50,000 pay day.
The Farley Speedway is located at the Southwest corner of Farley, Iowa, Exit 300 off of US Highway 20 and head west on Olde Farley Road. The Farley Speedway offers a very large campgrounds, and hot showers are available on the grounds. The Palace Ballroom is located at the entrance to the grandstand area and offers seating for up to 900 patrons. The Palace offers a full bar and set down eating.
